Spicy Harissa and Yogurt Sauce

This one's for you Nick. This North African-inspired sauce blends the heat and smokiness of harissa with the creaminess of yogurt, creating a vibrant and spicy accompaniment to roasted chicken.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 2 Tbsp harissa paste - available at most grocery stores (adjust for spice level)

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • 1 garlic clove, finely grated

  • 2 Tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • ½ tsp smoked paprika (or not smoked, up to you)

  • ½ tsp salt

  • Fresh cilantro or mint for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the yogurt, harissa paste, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, cumin, smoked paprika, and salt until smooth.

  2. Taste and adjust for spice, salt, or tanginess as needed.

  3. Drizzle over roasted chicken or serve on the side as a dipping sauce.

  4. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro or mint for an extra burst of freshness.
