Enhanced Peppermint Snowballs
These festive snowballs are richer, fluffier, and even more eye-catching.
Ingredients:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp peppermint extract
2 tsp water
1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies or candy canes
2 Tbsp white chocolate chips (optional)
Powdered sugar for dusting
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Mix in vanilla and peppermint extracts and water.
Gradually add flour, mixing until combined. Stir in crushed peppermint candies and white chocolate chips.
Form dough into 1-inch balls and place on the baking sheet.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the bottoms are just lightly golden. Cool slightly.
Roll the warm cookies in powdered sugar for a snowy coating. Once cooled, roll them again for a thicker layer.
