Cranberry Chutney

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup sugar

  • ½ cup chopped onion

  • ½ clove garlic, minced

  • 4 whole cloves

  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

  • ¼ tsp. salt

  • ¼ cup vinegar

  • Dash of cayenne pepper

  • 2 cups fresh cranberries

  • ¼ cup golden raisins

  • ½ cup chopped dates

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

Instructions:

  1. Simmer the following for 5 minutes: water, sugar, onion, garlic, cloves, cinnamon, salt, vinegar, and cayenne pepper.

  2. Add the fresh cranberries and golden raisins.

  3. Add the chopped dates and brown sugar.

  4. Simmer for 10-12 minutes.

  5. Cool the mixture.

  6. Serve chilled.
