Chocolate Snowflake Cookies

(Makes 6 dozen)

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup oil

Optional: substitute butter and Crisco for a richer favor and a more tender crumb

  • 2 Tbsp melted butter

  • 2 Tbsp melted Crisco 

  • 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp. vanilla

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1 tsp. baking powder

  • ¼ tsp. salt

  • ¼ cup confectioners' sugar

Instructions:

  1. Mix the oil, melted chocolate, and granulated sugar together.

  2. Blend in the eggs one at a time until well mixed. Add vanilla and blend.

  3. Blend the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir into the chocolate mixture.

  4. Chill for several hours.

  5. Drop by ½ tsp. of dough into the confectioners' sugar and roll around to coat.

  6. Place balls 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet.

  7. Bake at 350°F for 8-10 minutes.
